Milo Shirt Tally = 3

"The fallen leaves are rotting. The whole of nature stinks of disintegration and decay. The earth is dirty. The sea is dirty. The heavens rain slush. We are already in hell."

Strindberg is one interesting dude. Beilz pointed me to this, and then I found out that Strindberg isn't a fictional character. Kwazy. You should check out his poems.

The Milo Shirt Tally Begins

"Hokay, so, (here's the earth - it's chillin'...)" on Tuesday January 10th, my dad kindly purchased for me a green Nestlé Milo t-shirt from The Land of Chocolate (AKA the confectionary/chips wholesaler in Unanderra). I think it is already in my top 5 shirts; possibly in my top 3. The side-seam factor prevents it from overcoming the awesomeness of shirts such as "Opeth" and "Crazy Line Drawing Man Drawing Himself" (AKA "Interpretive Dancer").

After wearing the Milo shirt yesterday evening and this morning I've had 3 significant comment experiences. I thought I would start a Milo Shirt Tally and see how crazy it gets. (This could be a complete flop, but I think that 3 comments in less than 2 days may indicate the beginning of something...)

1. Random 4(ish) year old boy in Woolies
2. Neil
3. Random chick working in Byrne Surf 'n' Ski*

If it keeps happening, I'll keep posting about it.

* As someone who has resolved to purchase clothes primarily from op-shops, I feel a need to explain why I was in Byrne. Op-shops are great. You can find good stuff if you bother to look. It's cheap. Your money is going to a charity (if you shop at the charity ones and not the Newtown style in-it-for-profit ones). And best of all, your money ISN'T going to the retailer or the brand company who probably exploit people for cheap labour. That retailer/company has already received its money for the sale of that thing, and it's nice knowing that it wasn't your money. I understand that I'm not totally consistent with stuff like this, but for the benefit of my own conscience, op-shopping it (primarily) is. There are, however, a few things that I'll still go to the freaking brand-selling retailers for. Board shorts fall into this category. I've had too many bad experiences with cheap boardies. They last a summer and then go yuk. Maybe the zipper/Velcro carks it, or maybe they just lose shape, or maybe they were no good to start with but were attractive because of the $10 price tag. So that's why I was in Byrne - to find some good shorts. I found'm, and hopefully they'll last a fair while.
