Theory #1

Jacinta and I have decided that:
It is good to eat dessert with a teaspoon, rather than with a larger (e.g. dessert) spoon. With one half - or even one quarter - the amount of sweet food in one's mouth, there is only a small relative change to the sweet-food-eating sensation. However, in exchange for this arguably small loss, one gains the benefit of a significant time extension in the dessert-eating experience.

I think that the decrease in utility from the downsizing of the spoon outweighs the time extension, except in case of a really tiny dessert.
